Overview & Responsibilities


Provides leadership to all staff in area of responsibility. Responsible for all activities associated with operations, customers, staff, facilities and financials in the locations (combo location and stand alone funeral home).



  • Manages the selection and staffing process necessary to provide the appropriate number of qualified staff to ensure overall business objectives are met.

  • Directs and provides leadership for all of the administrative personnel, grounds maintenance and (combo) funeral home staff to create and maintain the highest level of client satisfaction. Creates team synergy between cemetery, funeral, and sales staff so that service is seamless to the client families.

  • Develop and maintain a positive associate relations environment so that associates are motivated to strive for performance excellence.

  • Insures that criteria for orienting and training new associates in all job categories in implemented and that there is ongoing coaching and assessment of the associates progress and capabilities. Must act decisively to correct situations when associates are not meeting position requirements.

  • Provide a premier level of client satisfaction that will satisfy the needs of every client family and which supports the Dignity Promise.

  • Provide a collaborative, productive workplace environment for growth and development that instills pride, a sense of ownership and the challenge to associates to exceed customer expectations.

  • Build cooperation between sales and operations and all general support functions by promoting a team atmosphere through personal actions and keeping communication lines open.

  • Assists, where appropriate, in the development of sales counselors with the objective of developing a clear understanding that cooperation, and respect is the core to both the company’s success and the individual’s success.

Business Development

  • Monitor and evaluate the operating results of each unity in area of responsibility, implement corrective actions where operating results do not meet planned expectations.

  • Responsible for achieving the locations annual financial and marketing goals.

  • Collaborates with sales management team to identify potential growth opportunities to increase market share and revenues.

  • Identify, implement and continuously improve the internal business processes that impact customer satisfaction, associate morale and financial performance.

  • Observes and evaluates the competitive environment in area of responsibility and communicates with appropriate regional management significant issues which could impact the business.

Requirements & Qualifications


  • Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in Florida or able to reciprocate

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred


  • High level understanding of all competitors and the demographic patterns influencing location business and market share

  • In-depth knowledge of market environment and competitive pricing

  • Must understand how to analyze financial reports to determine actions necessary to maintain or improve the location’s performance.

  • High level of compassion and integrity

  • Problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi task and set priorities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, strongly preferred

  • Organized and attention to detail – Uses resources effectively and efficiently and can coordinate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal, without overlooking critical details

  • Drive for Results – Strives to deliver superior performance and a standard of excellence to achieve successful outcomes
